About Me

I am associate vice chancellor for Communications and Marketing at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. I joined UTC in 2018 after serving the University of Tennessee System since 2005, most recently as its assistant vice president and director of communications.

I am a member of the founding group establishing a UTC Women’s Leadership Institute, served on the University 2020-2025 Strategic Planning Committee and continue to serve as a member of the advisory boards of the University of Tennessee (Knoxville) Tombras School of Advertising and Public Relations; Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont: Southeast Center for Education in the Arts and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Police Department.

I served in numerous capacities in the planning and implementation of UTC’s response to COVID-19. I’m a member of the inaugural (2018-2019) class of Leadership Hamilton County Schools, serve on the Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce Communications Committee, am a member of the Chattanooga Women’s Leadership Institute and a mentor to first-generation college students at UTC.

I am a passionate advocate for higher education.

I am a graduate of the Harvard University Institute for Education Management, Vanderbilt University’s Peabody Professional Institute for Higher Education Management, the UT Leadership Institute and UTC’s Gary W. Rollins College of Business Executive Leadership program. I’m a member of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education and the Public Relations Society of America’s Counselors to Higher Education. I earned certification in Digital Marketing from Columbia Business School, have a master’s degree in communication from UT Knoxville and am a member of the Advisory Board for the UT School of Advertising and Public Relations. I received a bachelor’s degree cum laude in English-journalism from Tennessee Tech University.

I transitioned to corporate communications after several years as an award-winning reporter and columnist for the Knoxville News-Sentinel and have earned certification in crisis management from the national Institute for Crisis Management. In 2020, Chattanooga’s City Scope magazine listed me among its “Gold Club” of 30 Influential Business Leaders in Chattanooga.
